Assassin’s Creed film set to premiere August 2015

The Assassin’s Creed film has been scheduled for a summer 2015 release.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that the film’s distributor Fox has dated the debut August 7th, 2015, after earlier reports had the movie arriving in theaters during late May of that year. The adaptation has the late summer date all to itself for now.

The film’s script is being written by Academy Award nominee Scott Frank, and is set to star Prometheus and X-Men: First Class actor Michael Fassbender.

There’s been hardly any mention of the film from Ubisoft, but Fassbender confirmed to Daily Beast in October that the project is still definitely happening.”
