Assassin’s Creed Unity "can’t be done on current-gen"

Ubisoft won’t be bringing its latest Assassin’s Creed entry to PS3 and Xbox 360.

In an interview with GameSpot, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft Tony Key said the publisher wouldn’t be able to launch a previous-gen edition of Unity.

It’s built for next-gen; it can’t be done on current-gen, at least we haven’t figured out how and we’re not trying to," said Key.

Assassin’s Creed Unity hits PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 28th.

But circling rumours indicate that there is an Assassin’s Creed title named Comet on the horizon for PS3 and Xbox 360. But Kay did little to confirm or deny the heavily speculated title.

"There’s plenty of current-gen Assassin’s Creed fans out there," he said. "We hope to be able to talk to them about that soon."
