Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s PC specs demand powerful machine

Ubisoft has confirmed some pretty demanding minimum requirements for PC owners looking to play Assassin’s Creed: Unity.

When it comes to processors the minimum spec is either an Intel Core i5-2500K (3.3GHz), AMD FX-8350 (4.0GHz) or AMD Phenom II x4 940 (3.0GHz). The recommended CPUs are the Intel Core i7-3770 (3.4GHz) or AMD FX-8350 (4.0 GHz).

The entry-level graphics cards are the GeForce GTX 680 or 2GB version of the Radeon HD 7970. Either the GeForce GTX 780 or 3GB AMD Radeon R9 290X are recommended.

On top of this users will need 50GB of HDD space, 6-8GB of RAM and a 64-bit version of either Windows 7 or Windows 8.

On the one hand it’s great that a new generation of consoles is pushing the technical envelope and allowing PC releases to showcase all-new levels of visual fidelity.

On the other hand, PC owners remain frustrated that cross-platform releases are now consistently requiring machines that are technically more powerful (and expensive) than either PS4 or Xbox One.
