August NPD: Sleeping Dogs moves 172,000 units on consoles

Another notable figure has dripped out from the NPD group following its August report.

A company rep told Joystiq that Sleeping Dogs 172,000 copies at US retail across PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms during the month.

The news comes after it was revealed Darksiders 2 sold 247,000 total copies at retail to take the top spot for the period.

PC sales for Sleeping Dogs were omitted due to a digital-only release for the title on the platform.As of the past week the Square Enix-published title was still hanging on to a spot on the Steam charts, and finished on top at UK retail.
