Activision has resurrected the fine tradition that is the Call of Duty Prestige Edition.
For those not familiar with the SKUs, Prestige’s include both a premium price and a premium goodie. Previous years have offered night vision goggles (Modern Warfare 2) and a remote control car with video camera (Black Ops).
Last year’s Modern Warfare 3 sadly skipped a Prestige release, but Black Ops II is reigniting the idea – with a remote control flying drove helicopter.
The other inclusions in the SKU (which is officially called the Care Package Prestige Edition) are: The multiplayer Nuketown map and access to Nuketown in Zombie Mode, two PS3 themes, Limited Edition challenge coins, the soundtrack, a steelbook and exclusive weapons and player cards for the mutliplayer game.
It will retail for 159.99 in the UK (previosu Prestiges have cost 129.99) and is a GAME exclusive.
Also confirmed is a Hardened Edition that includes all of the Prestige extras minus the helicopter. That has a UK RRP of 69.99
Interestingly, neither pack includes a subscription to Activision’s Call of Duty Elite service, although Treyarch designer David Vonderhaar says that more information is coming:
