Blizzard’s COO "excited" about Steam Machines

Valve’s track record with its distribution platform Steam has Blizzard COO Paul Sams excited about the potential surrounding the company’s Steam Machines initiative.

Speaking with GameSpot at Blizzard’s annual BlizzCon gathering, Sams explained that Valve’s proven itself to be the only organization that could pull off its mission statement to bring PC gaming into the living room.

I’m excited to see what they do, to be honest. Obviously with Steam, they’ve done great things; they’re a talented group,” Sams said.

I think Valve is a really great company. I think Gabe Newell and his team have consistently and regularly done great stuff, and I think if anybody could do it, they can.”

SteamOS announcements have been coming in by truckload lately, with Valve most recently confirming that it won’t involve itself with platform exclusive titles or allow third-party controllers.
