Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Wii U release shot down by Activision

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will not be making an appearance on Wii U, developer Sledeghammer Gamers has confirmed.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey explained the decision to skip Nintendo’s current console hardware ultimately came down to the call of publisher Activision Blizzard.

"No WiiU. That was an Activision decision. We are focused on XboxOne, PS4, and PC,” Condrey stated.

Nintendo has yet to comment on the development, which comes shortly after Ubisoft announced plans to halt production on mature-themed Wii U releases following Watch Dogs.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare hits November 4th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. PS3 and Xbox 360 editions of the game are in development at High Moon Studios as well.
