Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is also headed to PS3 and Xbox 360

The third Call of Duty: Black Ops title is coming to last-gen, but definitely won’t match up to its PS4 and Xbox One counterparts, Activision has said.

The game had previously been announced for PS4, Xbox One and PC only, leading some to question its appearance on older hardware.

However, Activision has now confirmed that PS3 and Xbox 360 will receive the upcoming shooter – albeit in a lesser form.

Chief among the changes is the reduction of BO3’s campaign co-op from four players on PS4, Xbox One and PC to two on PS3 and 360.

Other functions and features will be altered to fit with the older consoles, with Activision stating that more details will be on the way later this year.

The publisher also revealed that, for a second year running, this year’s Call of Duty won’t be coming to Wii U.

While Black Ops II and Ghosts both made it to the platform, last year’s Advanced Warfare marked a move away from the machine for the franchise.

A multiplayer beta for Black Ops 3 will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC ahead of the game’s November 6th release date.
