Calls for Aussie PSN ban

The Australian government should keep PSN out of bounds until it has been given a full brief about the new security measures implemented by Sony, one security expert has claimed.

The calls echo news that the Japanese government has blocked public PSN access until it is satisfied that adequate steps have been taken.

"Why is it that in the IT industry enterprises certify themselves?" Professor Bill Caelli told The Australian. "The public has no way of assessing the assurances given by the owners of the system themselves."

On Sunday PSN was restored in a number of key territories such as the US, Europe and Australia.
