Capcom backs Games Media Awards 2015

Capcom has signed up as sponsor for this year’s Games Media Awards.

The publisher’s Street Fighter brand will take Gold Partner status at this year’s event – and we’ve got some on-the-night surprises related to the venerable series of fighting games.

I’m very happy to be sponsoring the Games Media Awards with the upcoming release of Street Fighter V and the Capcom brand,” said PR manager Laura Skelly.

The awards are a fantastic opportunity to showcase the high calibre of UK journalism that there is in this industry and I’m pleased to be supporting the recognising of individuals for their supreme talent across a variety of different media channels, be it print, online or video. These are people I work with on a daily basis and make my job what it is today so it’s a fantastic opportunity to give them something back."

This year’s Games Media Awards take place at the Bloomsbury Ballroom on October 14th, with new prizes for video leaders and mainstream writers.

Returning are all the core awards, which focus on writers, not the brands they work for or pay them – plus our audience voted prizes. These include the Players’ Choice (in association with Playfire) voted for by consumers, and the on-the-night vote of Journalists’ Journalist.

Finalists are announced tomorrow afternoon.
