Capcom: Resi Darkside Chronicles a disappointment

Capcom France’s Antoine Seux has declared Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles to be a disappointment” after it failed to meet sales expectations.

Speaking to Gamekult (translated by Nintendo Everything), he attributed the game’s poor performance – 16,000 units in three weeks – to the lack of hardcore gamers within the Wii’s demographic.

As for Darkside Chronicles, absolute figures are not too bad, but we’re not going to lie, they are below what we hoped,” he said. It is a disappointment.

One feels that there is a problem very clear on this style of game on the Wii, where gamers are obviously moved on. Here we can see, the customer of this console has turned to something of a much broader audience.”

Capcom is one of many publishers to suffer poor sales from its hardcore Wii titles. Earlier this week, Sega stated its intention to reduce the number of mature Wii games it publishes and develops.
