Coadec organising DEB meeting

The Coalition for a Digital Economy has announced details of its Central London get together there it hopes UK business leaders can come to agreement regarding the controversial Digital Economy Bill.

Describing the issues it hopes to tackle, the Coadec site reads: The UK’s ability to compete on a global economic stage will be limited by the Bill’s antiquated approach to content online. Large copyright holders such as the record labels have had a disproportionate influence on the DE Bill, leaving the UK’s innovative digital businesses without a voice.

The Bill’s implication is that that businesses will now be liable for whatever happens over their wi-fi networks. This is an intolerable and unworkable situation.”
