Kane & Lynch 2 gets release date

Square Enix’s in-your-face action crime thriller Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in Europe and the UK on August 27th.

It’s North American release comes a few days earlier on August 24th.

The first game in the series was notable for its gritty adult theme and fleshed out characters and was a moderate success at retail despite mixed reviews. The sequel ups the graphical style considerably, mimicking the ‘shaky-cam’ visuals of TV documentaries.

We believe the unique visuals and relentless gameplay has created an intensity never delivered in a videogame before,” general manager of developer IO Interactive Niels Jrgensen stated.

In a genre where so many games look and feel the same, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will make people double-take. We think it’s going to make quite an impression.”
