Codemasters forges Sega arcade deal

Codemasters’ racer Grid will debit as a coin-op arcade game this autumn.

Via a deal with Sega Amusements, the UK publisher has developed a two-man cabinet of the game.

The content has been developed at Codemasters Studios.

Grid won a BAFTA for best sports game in 2009.

Codemasters says this new version "retains the acclaimed handling and visuals of the console editions to deliver the most exciting coin-op racing experience in years".

Gameplay includes a singleplayer championship and multiplayer, plus a number of licensed tracks and well-known real world tracks.

The game supports up to six players via linked cabinets and the cabinet features a 32" HD screen, force feedback steering wheels and 2.1 sound and seat sub-woofer.
