Coronation Street game hits Facebook

Long-running UK television soap Coronation Street is to become the first such programme to get its own dedicated social network game. Corrie Nation is to initially run on Facebook and ITV.com, and has been created in conjunction with the television show’s production team.

After the November 1st launch, other platforms are expected to play host to the title in the coming months.

The game challenges players to build, populate, manage and grow Coronation Street and host town Weatherfield over time, and strives to encourage users to build drama to score points. Corrie Nation, which features the iconic road itself along with Rosamund Street, Victoria Street and Viaduct Street, includes a number of social features to allow for peer-group competitions and wider userbase interactions.
