Ace Combat and Dark Souls set for October

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon will be released in the UK on Friday, October 14th.

The US version is set to arrive a little early on Tuesday, October 11th.

The promising new air combat game is a bit of a reboot for the series, and is scheduled for launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Consumers who pre-order the game or pick it up on the day of release can receive a special pack that features a steelbook, a DVD, soundtrack, notebook and exclusive DLC – all for the same price as the normal edition.

"Ace Combat is a symbol of the type of triple-A experience we want to give to consumers. This game will help us compete on equal terms with the biggest publishers in the world," said Namco Bandai’s European VP Olivier Comte.

The company has also revealed that RPG Dark Souls will also arrive in early October, and also boasts a special edition pack that features a guide, artbook, soundtrack and making of DVD. Again, this is all for the same price as the normal SKU.

The announcements are part of Namco Bandai’s ‘Level Up’ showcase in Dubai, which showed new footage and demonstrated new hands-on code for some of its biggest upcoming games.
