Zumba Fitness 2 announced

Publisher Majesco Entertainment will release a follow-up to the popular dance title Zumba Fitness in the US.

The original – which is currently top of the UKIE/GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 chart – is available on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. It has claimed the No.1 spot three times.

The sequel will be released on Wii in time for Christmas and on another format early next year.

Zumba Fitness was published in the UK and Europe by 505 Games. It’s still under discussion whether it will be bringing the sequel to UK retail.

We’ve seen an overwhelming demand for the next iteration of the franchise and I can promise you that Zumba Fitness 2’s new and improved features will challenge Zumba enthusiasts and entice new followers to join the party,” said Majesco’s CEO Jesse Sutton.

The new game will feature over 30 music tracks, new arenas, choreography moves and celebrity instructors Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant. A new progress tracker adds up calories burned and displays on-screen stats, while a multiplayer mode will support up to four players.

Zumba Fitness was developed by Pipeworks Software, while the sequel is being produced by Zoe Mode.
