Amiibo pre-orders available at £12.85 each

Retailer ShopTo has started taking pre-orders for Nintendo’s Amiibo figures.

It’s charging 12.85 for each model, although it doesn’t specify the release date or RRP. Previous estimates had pegged the likely price at between 6-12 a piece.

The figures currently available from the retailer are Link, Kirby, Mario, Zelda, Peach, Pikachu, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Samus Aran, Animal Crossing Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Pit, (Kid Icarus), Marth (Fire Emblem) and Fox McCloud.

Interestingly the retailer lists each figure as available separately for Wii U and 3DS although MCV’s understanding was that figures will work across platforms.

Nintendo’s American boss Reggie Fils-Aime last week claimed that Nintendo’s new toys-to-life range can have a significant impact” on Wii U sales.
