Mediatonic to develop a number of digital titles for the PSPgo

Another iPhone studio turns PSP

More iPhone specialist studios are pledging their commitment to develop digitally-distributed games for the PSPgo.

London-based social-gaming outfit Mediatonic has struck a partnership deal with Sony to create various gamers for the platform.

The news comes fast after several other iPhone specialists – including Halfbrick, Frima and HoneySlug – announced they were to focus their work on PSPgo Minis, the new micro-sized games service for the handheld.

Recently the group produced its first iPhone title, the 4.9MB-sized Must.Eat.Birds, which is sold on the App store at £0.59.

Mediatonic creative director Paul Croft said the PSPgo deal with Sony was “immensely exciting”.

“Having dipped our toes in the water with Must.Eat.Birds on the iPhone, we’re thrilled to be adding the PSP Go to our ranks, he said, “and we’ll be designing original games specifically for the platform and its online delivery system.”
