Borderlands now aiming for October

Having missed its provisional 2008 release date, 2K Games’ Borderlands is now on track for a release this October, according to Shacknews.

The game, which is being developed by Brothers in Arms studio Gearbox, is a shooter-come/RPG set in an apocalyptic future with a heavy leaning towards vehicles.

It bears more than a passing resemblance to Bethesda’s Fallout 3 aside from one key department – the visuals. Those behind the game have previously gone to great lengths to stress that the game is not cel-shaded, despite it looking very much like it is.

Borderlands is in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
