Dunaway confirms Nintendo departure

Cammie Dunaway, the current executive vice president of sales and marketing at the North American arm of platform holder Nintendo is to leave both the firm and the industry on October 1st.

She joined the company in November 2007 and has become one of the leading faces in the successful campaign to bring machines such as the Wii and DS to a wider western audience.

I’m thankful for my time with Nintendo and proud of our team’s accomplishments in growing the Nintendo audience,” a statement from Dunaway read. I look forward to watching the continued growth of the Nintendo brand in the years ahead.”

Dunaway first rose to the attention of the wider games industry after her wide-smiled E3 2008 presentation, which seemingly agitated much of the company’s so-called hardcore” fanbase.
