E3 2011: MGS for Wii U inbound?

The makers of Metal Gear Solid have been in with discussions with Nintendo about what they can bring to Wii U.

A Kojima Productions exec told Eurogamer that it was looking at the new console’s potential far ahead of its E3 debut and it currently exploring what the device can do for its titles.

Obviously we did have talks with Nintendo early on – they approached us with the Wii U,” said creative producer Yoshikazu Matsuhana.

We can’t say exactly when this happened or what kind of talks we’ve had but we were aware of the hardware and we’ve been looking at it. We are very much thinking about possibilities with the Wii U and it looks like a very fun system.”

He added that Kojima Productions will probably not” have a title ready for Wii U’s launch but definitely has things in mind”.
