E3 2011: Wii U Darksiders II the visual equal of 360 and PS3 versions

The Wii U version of Darksiders II will "absolutely" look as good as the Xbox 360 and PS3 SKUs, THQ’s core games boss Danny Bilson has told Eurogamer.

He also added that a working version of the game is already up and running on the hardware.

That claim comes despite the mild bit of controversy that followed Nintendo’s admission that much of the games footage shown off in its Wii U presentation was actually taken from Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the titles.

"We have Darksiders II completely running on the Wii U right now," Bilson stated.

"It took about five weeks. Coming into the show we were ready to go. We could have demonstrated it on the hardware but Nintendo decided not to have full games shown in the booth.

"But if you were to go into Vigil in Austin, Texas right now, Darksiders II is fully running on the new hardware. The Darksiders team was one of the first teams to get dev kits. We’ve had dedicated engineers on it working seven day weeks leading up to the show."
