New sci-fi franchise will debut next spring

E3 2015: Inafune and Metroid Prime devs collaborate on Recore

Microsoft kicked off its E3 press conference with a demo of the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, followed by the first look at a brand new IP.

Recore is a sci-fi action adventure exclusive to Xbox, and developed by Microsoft Studios.

The pre-rendered trailer, in which the player character fought robots with the help of a robot dog. After being defeated, the dog’s programme can be transferred to other machines.

Interestingly, the title is being developed by Mega Man co-designer Keiji Inafune and “the makers of Metroid Prime”, although it’s not clear if the latter means Retro Studios or former members of that team.

Recore is due in Spring 2016.
