Rod Fergusson introduces next entry in the series, plus remastered edition of original Gears of War

E3 2015: The Coalition shows off Gears of War 4

The fourth instalment in the Gears of War series has been shown off for the first time.

Rod Fergusson from new Gears dev The Coalition introduced the first gameplay footage during Xbox’s E3 press conference.

The game is the first entry in the series to be developed by The Coalition, and the first to be handled by Microsoft since the firm purchased the rights to the franchise from creator Epic Games earlier this year.

Fergusson left Epic to oversee the new Gears at The Coalition, previously known as Black Tusk Studios.

Gears 4 will be released Christmas 2016.

The Coalition also announced Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, a remastered version of the original Gears of War, which has been optimised for Xbox One.
