EA scraps plans to include Battlefield 1943 in Battlefield 3

PS3 gamers hoping to find a free copy of digital-only title Battlefield 1943 included in their copy of Battlefield 3 are going to be disappointed.

It has emerged that EA has not, as previously promised, bundled the multiple shooter in PS3 versions of the new Battlefield title.

The Battlefield Twitter account has said that in recompense for the omission it will be offering PS3 users early access to the planned Battlefield 3 expansions – presumably on top of the one-week exclusivity period already enjoyed by PS3.

Battlefield 3 will be released in the UK this Friday (October 28th).
