Green Man secures more funding

Digital retailer Green Man Gaming has secured fresh funding from London-based venture capital firm, Eden.

The investment company specialises in working with new technology companies and its portfolio includes Blinkbox, We7 and Reevoo.

Ben Tompkins, partner at Eden, commented: The management team of Green Man Gaming has taken the company from a concept to a real business in just 18 months.

It is clear the future of games retail is via digital download and we believe that Green Man Gaming, with its propriety trading platform and our support, is perfectly placed to take a significant portion of this multi-billion dollar market. This is the right model for the games industry at the right time.”

Green Man Gaming CEO Paul Sulyok told MCV: Eden are one of the most respected new technology VCs in London. If you speak to anyone in the investment community they’ve heard of Ben Tompkins and Mark Caroe and the other senior partners. They’ve made some really, really smart investments.

They are also tremendously supportive on all levels. Some of the advice and contacts and introductions they’ve already made have proved to be invaluable and influenced the direction the business is taking.”
