New hire Harrison 'has not taken Microsoft Studios Europe Creative Director job'

Microsoft ‘still looking for Molyneux replacement’

Microsoft is still has an open vacancy for the role that Peter Molyneux is departing, the company has claimed.

It was believed that former Sony executive Phil Harrison was taking over as Microsoft Studios Europe Creative Director, after Molyneux last week announced his departure from the position.

Yet in a statement the company said Harrison’s new job at Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business “is completely unrelated to Peter’s departure”.

The Xbox firm however said Harrison will have an influence on Microsoft Studios’ European organization.

“We will continue to rely on our stable of first party developers as we determine if and when the Microsoft Studios Europe Creative Director vacancy should be filled,” the company added.
