Nintendo looks to be on the verge of announcing a new colour variant of its 3DS handheld.
Joystiq spotted a listing for a Midnight Purple 3DS on US retailer Sam’s Club, which prices the unit at $168.58.
The listing remains nothing but speculation at this point, but Nintendo’s push to give the machine as strong a start as possible in 2012 means that more SKUs are likely in the offing.
