Nicolas Wegnez named new Nintendo UK boss

Nicolas Wegnez has been named the new general manager at Nintendo UK.

He replaces Simon Kemp, who left the firm last week to persue new career options. He held the role since November 2012.

Wegnez is a familar face within Nintendo, having held positions at the platform holder for more than 20 years. Most recently, he served as marketing and PR director at Nintendo Iberica – looking after the firm’s Spanish and Portugues operations.

Wegnez begins his new role today.

He’s the latest experienced Nintendo head drafted into the UK business in recent weeks. Matthias Hempfling joined as marketing and PR director, having previously worked as senior European marketing manager at Nintendo Europe. Meanwhile, Kalpesh Tailorhas has come on-board as head of communications, also joining from NOE where he worked as European PR manager.
