Pikmin 4 ‘very close to completion’

Nintendo’s development boss Shigeru Miyamoto has said that not only is Pikmin 4 in development, but it’s actually very nearly finished.

"It’s actually very close to completion," Miyamoto told Eurogamer in an interview recorded in July. "Pikmin teams are always working on the next one."

Nintendo has since added: "We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present."

It’s not known what format the game is in development for – be it Wii U, 3DS or even smartphone or NX, the latter of which is not going to be detailed by Nintendo until 2016.

The last Pikmin game arrived fairly recently in the form of Pikmin 3 on the Wii U, which was released in 2013.
