Pokemon Black & White 2 sells 1.6m in two days

Nintendo’s Pokemon IP has once again flexed its commercial muscle in Japan.

Andriasang reports that the game sold 1.619m units in its first two days on sale in the region.

That makes it the third best DS launch ever and the first million+ unit seller of the year in the country.

The original Pokemon Black & White retains the record for the fastest selling Japanese DS game ever, shifting 2.637 units in its first two days of release.

Also announced were the life-to-dare hardware sales of both the DS and 3DS in Japan. The former has now sold 32.855m units and the latter 6.288m.
