Raymond working on Splinter Cell 6

Iconic games developer Jade Raymond has confirmed that she is heading up the team working on Splinter Cell 6.

The game is currently in development at Ubisoft’s Toronto studios, with 83 people having already been hired for the project. In a promotional Ubisoft video we’re told that concept artists, animators and audio technicians are already working on the game.

Raymond adds that within the next decade the publisher hopes to ramp up the studio’s headcount to at least 800 people”.

Raymond herself rose to prominence working as the producer on Assassin’s Creed. In a world where lead developers are more likely to wear a beard and black printed t-shirt than a skirt and plait, it’s not hard to see why she became such a recognisable figure in the world of video games.

Her former employers include SOE and EA. Splinter Cell 6 will be the first game outside of the Assassin’s Creed series that Raymond has worked on at Ubisoft.
