Rumour: Black 3DS XL model lands at US and Canada retail this week

A black model of Nintendo’s 3DS XL line looks to be on its way to shelves in North America, according to an ad promoting the hardware.

Go Nintendo reports on a print ad from Real Canadian Superstore (pictured) that shows the yet to be announced black 3DS XL, and lists it as available this Friday, July 26th.

IGN adds that a black 3DS XL was included in a Mario & Luigi: Dream Team commercial, adding that the Pikachu yellow model was shown in a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates spot ahead of its official unveiling.

A Nintendo rep told Polygon "we have nothing to announce at this time," when asked about the new model. If the date stands, we’ll know more in the next day or so.
