Silent Hill: Downpour coming this autumn

Publisher Konami has announced that Silent Hill: Downpour will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 this autumn.

The game, the name of which was revealed earlier in the month, will be the eighth title in the spooky series, the first incarnation of which dates back all the way 1999.

Featuring a brand new storyline, the game sees players taking control of Murphy Pendelton, a convict struggling through the foggy reaches of Silent Hill. It will feature a larger, explorable environment than those seen in previous games.

It has also been revealed that Downpour’s soundtrack is being penned by composer Daniel Licht, whose former work includes TV’s serial killer drama Dexter.
