DC Universe Online breaks SOE records

The recently released PS3 and PC MMO DC Universe Online has become Sony Online Entertainment’s fastest selling game ever, studio president John Smedley has revealed.

"Working on out-of-stock problems for DCUO," he explained on Twitter. "It’s our fastest selling game ever. Should have more inventory in Monday."

The game was also the best selling title on Valve’s Steam network last week. On the High Street the PS3 version has been comfortably outselling the PC SKU.

Other titles to emerge from SOE include EverQuest, Everquest II, PlanetSide and Star Wars Galaxies as well as the PSN ports of PopCap titles Bejeweled 2 and Peggle.
