Singapore relents on Mass Effect ban

that Singapore’s Media Development Authority had decided to ban BioWare’s upcoming Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect thanks to an in-game scene involving a girl-on-girl coupling between a human and blue-headed alien lass.

However, regional paper The Straits Times now reports that the Authority has decided to life the ban and instead impose an 18 certificate, Gamespot reports.

The region’s Board of Film Censors has now said that it will be creating a games classification system early next year, and that in the interim it will be using ratings when deemed necessary to facilitate the release highly anticipated titles” in Singapore.
