Games to be taken offline from October 1st

Sony shutting down Motorstorm and SOCOM servers

Sony is to shut down servers for Motorstorm and SOCOM games on PS3 and PSP, it has announced.

Pacific Rift, Arctic Edge and Fireteam Bravo 3 will be taken offline from October 1st this year, meaning online play will become inaccessible.

The two Motorstorm titles were released in 2008 and 2009, whilst SOCOM was released as recently as 2010.

PSP turn-based card game The Eye of Judgement: Legends will also be taken offline on August 31st.

Previous titles to have their servers shut down include Formula One Championship Edition for PS3 and PSP games Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, Twisted Metal Head-On, Killzone Liberation and Wipeout Pulse.
