Star Trek Online beta beams down

Publisher Atari has at last opened the digital doors to the public beta for Cryptic Studio’s long awaited MMO Star Trek Online.

Running until January 26th, the beta offers players the chance to take control of their own Federation or Klingon vessel in a world populated by thousands of other players.

We are thrilled to give open beta access to fans as we draw nearer to the official release of Star Trek Online,” Star Trek Online’s executive producer Craig Zinkievich stated.

We are looking forward to the launch of our first-of-a-kind MMORPG with anticipation and excitement and we expect Star Trek Online to explode onto the scene, giving fans and gamers a Star Trek experience like no other.”

The full retail version of Star Trek Online goes on sale on February 5th.
