Version 1.5 adds Torque Game Builder functionality

Torque Wii gets upgrade

GarageGames and Pronto Games have updated the Wii version of the Torque Game Engine to version 1.5.

Biggest of the new features is the addition of the 2D drag-and-drop functionality seen in Torque Game Builder, allowing for the rapid creation of two-dimensional titles – a feature which GarageGames believes will make the technology appeal to casual game developers, along with the flat-fee no-royalty licence style.

"We’re thrilled to have had one of the first affordable solutions out there for Wii game development and with the huge success of the Wii platform, developer interest Torque for Wii has been off the charts," said Brett Seyler, GarageGames VP of business development.

"Torque for Wii continues to improve and mature and with this technology in the hands of some very talented studios, we’re going to see a lot more more great games like Pronto’s Destiny of Zorro come to the Wii."
