Wii U/3DS compatibility on creator’s wishlist for next Smash Bros.

Smash Bros creator and Nintendo icon Masahiro Sakurai has revealed his intentions to bring Wii U and 3DS dual support for the hit franchise’s next title.

"There is a certain dead end we come to if we just expand the volume of the game," Sakurai told IGN. "I intend to change direction a little as we go. The key to that’s going to be its dual support for 3DS/Wii U.

"I’ll come up with something that uses that link as the game’s central axis, so I hope you’re looking forward to it."

Sakurai added that the next Smash Bros is just getting under development and that it would still be some time until we get our hands on the latest in the multiplayer fighting series.
