Wii U Virtual Console adding Nintendo DS titles

Wii U’s Virtual Console library is set to grow a bit more robust, with Nintendo announcing plans to bring Nintendo DS games onto the service.

The reveal was made by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during a financial results meeting that included news on several properties, such as Mario Kart 8.

While Iwata didn’t officially name any titles, he did mention DS favorite Brain Age as potentially a good fit with Wii U’s Gamepad – adding that several other titles should be playable on the peripheral.

No dates were noted in regards to when the DS titles will begin to show up on Wii U’s Virtual Console service.
