WiiWare launches in US

Originally announced in June as an outlet for small-scale independent games, Nintendo’s promising WiiWare Channel has surprisingly arrived in the US today – albeit without any games.

CVG reports that WiiWare currently offers a streamed preview video of Metroid Prime 3 – though its arrival could mean that original games content might just be around the corner.

A spokesperson for Nintendo UK has reportedly said that the new service will not launch in the UK until next year – and that its early arrival in the US forms part of NoA’s promotional activity for its new Metroid title in the US.
