Wind Waker gets RRP hike on Nintendo eShop

Nintendo is charging more for The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD on its digital eShop than it did for other titles.

The game, an HD re-release of the 2003 GameCube title, is now available to pre-order for 49.99 on the Wii U download service.

Eurogamer points out that the price is 10 more than the 39.99 Nintendo charged for recent releases Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101.

Note though that both launch titles Nintendo land and Super Mario Bros U as well as Capcom’s Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate also cost 49.99 to download, so in some ways it’s nothing more than a return to form.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is released in the UK this Friday (October 4th).
