Xbox VR likely exclusive to Project Scorpio

Next year’s arrival of Xbox Scorpio won’t quite be the level playing field some had hoped for, at least when it comes to VR.

Microsoft in its reveal of the new machine committed to cross-platform compatibility for both Xbox One and Xbox Scorpio for new titles. However, the extra processing oomph required for VR titles to perform adequately means that virtual reality titles might be the exception to the rule.

“We said we’re not going to have console-exclusive games for Project Scorpio,” US Xbox Marketing Aaron Greenberg told Engadget. “It’s one ecosystem – whether you have an Xbox One S or Project Scorpio, we don’t want anyone to be left behind.
