Cory Barlog and Peter Molyneux to keynote 2018 Devcom event

The keynote speakers for Devcom 2018, the developer conference attached to industry event Gamescom, have been announced as Cory Barlog and Peter Molyneux.

Two huge names from different generations, Sony Santa Monica’s Cory Barlog was the creative director on recent release God of War which is currently one of the best reviewed titles of the year so far. Meanwhile, Peter Molyneux needs little introduction – but will get one here regardless – as the founder of 22cans and one of the minds behind classic titles like Fable, Black & White, Populous and Dungeon Keeper. He was awarded an OBE in 2004 and stepped away from public life after a series of bruising interviews in 2015 that led to him moving away from press.

Barlog’s talk will feature "a very personal insight" in the development of God of War, while Molyneux will dissect his classic title, Fable.

Devcom is currently accepting pitches from speakers, but already has some great speakers lined up, including Ultima designer Richard Garriott.

Devcom will take place on August 19 and 20, in Cologne, Germany.
