D3P scoops Aardmans Shaun the Sheep licence

Popular Aardman character and TV star Shaun the Sheep is to star in his own video game, MCV can reveal.

D3Publisher of Europe has snapped up the licence to the kids’ television series, which is a spin-off from the Wallace and Gromit property that made Aardman a world famous animation studio.

The new title will be a DS exclusive and is set for release in Q4 2008. The news follows D3P’s partnership with Aardman on the video game incarnation of its recent big budget movie Flushed Away.

The publisher has also confirmed that more Shaun the Sheep titles will appear across a myriad of leading video game consoles.

This agreement with Aardman Animation is a significant milestone for D3Publisher of Europe,” said managing director of D3P Europe David Hope. Shaun the Sheep is a significant global property and will be a key title for us in 2008 and beyond.”
