Dead Island 2 confirmed for PC, Xbox One

Deep Silver has revealed Dead Island 2 will also be heading to PC and Xbox One, joining the previously confirmed PS4 version announced by Sony.

While not an exclusive for Sony as we had originally understood, the PS4 edition still appears to be the definitive version – including certain exclusives, such as a PS4-only pre-release beta period, an additional playable character and an extra level.

Yager, the studio responsible for Spec Ops: The Line, is developing the sequel utilizing the Unreal Engine 4. It will apparently take place in different locations throughout California, meaning there very well could be no islands in Dead Island 2 – Golden Gate and Venice Beach are mentioned, but nothing about Alcatraz or Catalina as of yet.

Deep Silver has pegged a worldwide release window of spring 2015 for all three platforms. Here’s a look at the freshly released trailer:
