Dead or Alive 5 is getting an HD release on PS4 and Xbox One

A fairly unexpected HD re-release for PS4 and Xbox One has been announced in the form of Koei Tecmo’s Dead or Alive 5.

It’s called Dead or Alive 5: Last Round and will be based on the original game that was first released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.

It was also released on Vita under the name Dead or Alive 5+ and then subsequently re-released on consoles as Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, adding in the Vita content as well as some additional stuff.

It’s likely that Last Round will add even more to the package, as well as presumably a new visual makeover.

It’s due out in Japan next spring. There’s no concrete news on a Western release just yet.
