Dead Rising movie is coming… to Crackle

The Dead Rising movie is coming… but to Sony’s video-on-demand service Crackle.

Back in the old world of doing things, any production that skips cinema is viewed negatively. But in today’s digital age, the fact that a film is coming to a streaming channel is no bad thing.

The film is by Legendary Pictures and is the first project to come out of the firm’s Digital Media division.

The script is being written by Tim Carter, while Lorenzo di Bonaventura is acting as producer.

For those countries where Crackle isn’t really a thing, the film will be distributed to other networks. It will also, eventually, come to TV and DVD.

Capcom’s Dead Rising is a decent-sized franchise, with almost 7m games sold worldwide. The last title, Dead Rising 3, received strong reviews when it launched last year as an Xbox One exclusive.
